Reverse Pec Deck
Reverse Pec Deck uses machines in a isolation movement that primarily trains shoulders. Use it to train the target muscles through a stable, measurable range.
- Equipment
- machines
- Typical range
- 10–25 reps
- Also works
- back
01 · Set up
Hold a light, controllable resistance and set your arms in the starting path described by the exercise.
Stand or sit tall with soft elbows, a braced torso, and your shoulders relaxed away from your ears.
02 · Perform
Raise the arms along the exercise path without shrugging or swinging your torso.
Stop at the highest position you can control while keeping the neck relaxed.
Lower slowly until the resistance returns to the starting position.
Coaching tips
- Keep the non-working joints still.
- Use the full controlled range.
- Own the return phase.
Common mistakes
- Moving the torso to create momentum.
- Using resistance that shortens the range.
- Letting the resistance drop on the return.
What it should feel like
Expect controlled effort through the shoulders, not sharp or joint-focused pain.
Stop or modify when
Stop or shorten the range for sharp, sudden, worsening, or joint-focused pain; choose a reviewed alternative when needed.
