The STHENO standard
How we create fitness guidance.
Clear recommendations require honest sourcing, visible limits, and corrections when the evidence or our work changes.
Authorship
Articles identify the person responsible for the work. STHENO does not use invented authors, reviewers, credentials, or affiliations. Current guides are written by Matthew David, STHENO’s founder and a Certified Personal Trainer.
Evidence and sources
For claims about training, nutrition, recovery, and supplements, we prioritize peer-reviewed research, systematic reviews, consensus statements, professional organizations, and government health sources. Each linked source must support the claim for which it is presented.
Scope and safety
STHENO provides education and fitness coaching support, not diagnosis or emergency care. General guidance cannot account for every medical condition, medication, symptom, pregnancy, injury, or eating-disorder history.
Dates, updates, and corrections
Publication dates describe when an article first appeared. Updated dates change only after a meaningful editorial revision. We correct material errors and update guidance when stronger evidence changes the practical conclusion.
Recommendations
Training and nutrition estimates are starting points, not guarantees. We explain the context, tradeoffs, and signals that should guide the next decision.
